On the Road - Day 3

We saw some incredible beaches along our way today. We were tempted to stop at every one but we limited ourselves to just two. This one had a beautiful sandy beach. Already it is starting to get a little chilly. It was windy all day today.

If we would let him, Bryan would spend all day, every day just at the ocean's edge. This rocky area was a little further up the coast, and we were impressed with the waves hitting the rocks. It was so windy here that it was a little scary walking out on the rocks. I was sure that it would just blow us right off the top and into that water below.

It's hard to tell, but that is foam from the waves hitting up against the rocks. It was blowing up and just piling up right there. It looked liked suds in a giant washing machine.

We did a lot of driving again today. It seems that we think we should be able to get further up the road than we do. Today we actually heard a few comments about being bored! We drove all the way to Eureka, where we stopped to spend the night. We passed through part of the redwood forest at dusk and plan to check out some of it tomorrow. We have found that the Comfort Inn offers a great breakfast so that is where we are at right now.

  1. If you want a decent hotel breakfast, check out the Holiday Inn Express. It's a little bit pricier than some of the other hotels, but their breakfast is just little better. And the warm cinnamon rolls are definitely worth it!
